Rod King, owner and outfitter for The Bozeman Angler, started fly fishing with his dad on the banks of the West Canada Creek in Upstate New York. It was the beginning of a life long addiction. He has guided trout fly fishers since 1979, first, in the Adirondack Mountains of New York for wild Brook Trout then, after fly fishing out West for ten years, he decided it was time to follow his passion and move his family to Bozeman Montana in 1991. Rod has fly fished his way around the world from the bonefish flats in the Bahamas to Alaska, New Zealand, Argentina, Costa Rica, Scotland and points in between.
Peter King has been happily addicted to fly fishing and the outdoors since childhood growing up in the Adirondack mountains of upstate New York. Since moving to Montana in 1991 the Rocky mountain rivers have been his home and the endless pursuit of wild trout his passion. Peter enjoys guiding Fly Fishers of any and all skill levels on the area's best float and walk wade trips.
Ladd Hogue was born and raised in Montana, grew up as part of a family owned outfitting business and honed his knowledge of fishing while shadowing his dad on the banks of Rock Creek, a blue ribbon trout stream near Philipsburg, Montana. Now living in Bozeman and attending Montana State University studying Fisheries Biology, he has logged many hours on the rivers and streams in and around Gallatin County. In addition to his passion for fishing and desire to teach others, Ladd spends many hours enjoying the art of tying flies, is an avid hunter and has a tremendous appreciation for all the beauty of the Montana outdoors.
Nathan Guffey was raised on a small ranch in rural California. Spending the majority of his youth fishing mostly warm water species. Although It was clear early on that Nathan loved to chase anything with fins. It wasn't until his early teens that he found the beauty of chasing trout. Not sure if it was the places that trout lived or the fish themselves. He knew he had to make the move to trout country.
For the next few years Nathan spent his time bumbling around the west. Working as a chef and restaurant manger. Always looking for the place that had it all.(Big trout and beauty) Then around 15 years ago he had a chance to work in Yellowstone National Park. After spending a couple of seasons in Yellowstone He made the move to Bozeman. Shortly after getting to Bozeman his dream of becoming a fishing guide came true. Its hard for him to believe but that was 10 years ago. Nathan has a passion for showing everyone from beginners to experts what our waters have to offer.
Ken Stock started tying flies and fly fishing when he was 8 years old. His passion for exploring new waters, designing new flies, exercising as many trout as he can and teaching people about fly fishing has grown since then. Growing up in northern Utah, he fished the local rivers as well as many in the Greater Yellowstone area. While living in Michigan for a time, Ken enjoyed learning the legendary rivers such as the Pierre Marquette and AuSable, to name a few.
Since moving back to Bozeman, Ken spends as many days as possible with friends and clients taking in the wildlife, scenery, history and world class fishing of Southwest Montana's awe inspiring waters. Ken would be happy to share his knowledge and love of fly fishing with you.
