FLY FISHING 101 CLASS
The sport of fly fishing is a very relaxing and rewarding way to become one with nature. As in all sports, there is a learning curve. Through our class at The Bozeman Angler, we can help beginners get started in a sport that will last a lifetime. We can also assist intermediate to advanced fly fishers improve and fine-tune their skills.
The head instructor for our Fly Fishing 101 classes is Ethan Markie. Ethan is a licenced guide with experience in both Montana and Alaska. His love for teaching shines through during the class as he lays the groundwork for you to be able to start fly fishing on your own. All the major topics will be covered including entomology and fly selection, reading water, equipment terms and applications, ethics and safety, and of course, hands on casting practice.
One Day Fly Fishing 101 $125/person
Class Schedule - Classes are held the second Saturday of every month from April through September. Individuals, couples, families or small group classes available by appointment all year.
This class includes all the basics: choosing tackle and equipment, knot tying, reading water, practical entomology and fly selection, and casting instruction. Lunch and beverages are included.
