Fly Tying Video and Class

We will be having our first Introduction to Fly Tying class, Thursday nights (6-8) in January. 4 classes, $50 all materials and tools included. Come learn to tie flies in a laid back relaxing atmosphere! Classes will be kept small to insure plenty of individual instruction. Call the Shop (406)-587-9111 or stop in to sign up!

Fly Fishing Classes
If you have ever wanted to learn all the things you needed to know to go out and be successful on the river, we offer the class you're looking for. Everything from a 2 hour casting lesson, to the knots you'll need to know. Also the importance of river edicate will be discussed so we can all still be friends when we see each other out on the water enjoying the great fishing Montana has to offer. Lunch is also included and will be brought here to shop so you can snack while we go over reading water and fly selection on some of our trickier water ways.
Fly Fishing Film Tour!!
The Fly Fishing Film Tour is coming to Bozeman January 26th (Saturday). Based on the trailers it looks to be a good show! I think we are all hoping for plenty of slow motion topwater fish takes from explosive exotic species. Its always a good excuse to get out of the house, ward of cabin fever and get some new inspiration for the 2016 season. As always, the show will be at the Emerson, there will be beer. Fly tying is a great way to stay connected to your fishing passion during the cold winter months and a great advancement in your world of angling skills. On top of all that it's just really fun and a lot easier than you might think. We are offering a few options to get you spinning hackles in the right direction.
Winter Steelhead Trip
The Olympic Peninsula in Washington state is home to one of the largest runs of wild steelhead in the lower 48. The Bozeman Angler is offering a couple weeks of hosted fly fishing trips for these incredible fish and has a few openings left. Focusing mostly on the Hoh, Bogachiel, and Sol Duc rivers this is one of the best oppertunities to get into some fresh chromers in an incredibley beautiful coastal rainforest setting. Some of the hardest fighting fish on some of the prettiest waters in the world.
Downtown Bozeman is busy this weekend, it's Crazy Days! For those of you who don't know about it, Crazy Days is a big sidewalk sale that all the businesses in downtown Bozeman take part in. You can find some really great deals all around!

Happy Father's Day
The fishing is just rocking right now in Montana. Hope everyone gets after them this weekend and to make it easier for you MT FWP is offering a free fishing this weekend. That means anybody in Montana can fish without purchasing a fishing license on Saturday and Sunday as a Father's Day gift! Pretty cool chance to get out and spend some time with Dad on the water.
Salmonfly Celebration Tonight!
If you're in the Bozeman area tonight you should come on down to The Baxter Hotel for a Salmonfly Celebration! This event is being hosted by flyfishingreports.com, and is a great way to socialize and enjoy one of the biggest and best hatches of the year. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Madison-Gallatin Trout Unlimited chapter so you know your money is going to a good cause.
There will be $10 bottomless pint glasses, raffles, and a salmonfly dry fly tying competition. The event starts at 7pm and will go till roughly around 9. It's sure to be a good time and a good party, so come on down and enjoy!

Montana Fishing Film Fest Coming This Friday!
Getting psyched for the fishing season is always easy this time of year, but if you need a little more help come on down to the Montana FIshing Film Festival this Friday, May 22. This film festival focuses on films about our beautiful state, and is a fairly new entry to the festival circuit. It is full of some great movies and is sure to get you excited about fishing.
