Jefferson River
The Jefferson River is a slow moving, wide river with steep banks and deep holes beginning around Twin Bridges and ending up converging with the Madison and Gallatin to form the Missouri River. It holds mostly browns, and a few rainbows and whitefish. The hopper fishing in the late summer, early fall can be amazing because the banks are lined with farm fields filled with hoppers. But in the summer this river is used for irrigation, causing the flows to get really low pushing the browns into the deeper holes and undercut banks.
