Mountain Khakis Untucked Tour!

Partnering with premier specialty retail partners and key outdoor events, the LU Tour will roll through the U.S. in two regional legs; first through the Rockies, Southwest, Cali, Montana, Jackson Hole; second to kickoff at Outdoor Retailer, through the Great Lakes, New England Mid-Atlantic, back to Charlotte.

Run off... Awaiting Salmonflies

The run off this year hasn't been to heavy, and the fish are still eating lots! With the colder nights the snow is melting slowly. Some of the rivers have been fishing great when the water is a little murky. Ennis lake was churned up by the heavy winds we had the other day and the lower Madison turned brown, but the fish were still eating all day and it didn't seem to affect them too much. Also the Missouri, Madison, and Big Hole have been been fishing great! Lots of March Browns, midges, caddis and BWO's on the Missouri and fish eating crayfish and zonkers on the Madison.

Strip'n Flywear!

We now have shirts for fisherman, made by fly fisherman in Whitefish, MT. The Strip'n Flywear company was started by a fly fisherman in Whitefish because there was no places to buy a fly fishing lifestyle t-shirt. They have some clever designs, some of which have been featured on Moldychum! We have several to choose from, from a brown trouthouse to a james brown trout. Come on in and check the new designs!

Spring Days

Had the chance to scoot out to the Gallatin while it wasn't snowing and windy and had a great time! The rainbows were out and eating lightning bugs and stoneflies. With warmer days in the forecast, get out and fish before the snow melts! Pretty soon it will high muddy water. Havent seen any yet, but soon there should be some caddis flies in the air, so get stocked up on elk hairs and caddis pupa!

Fall Fishing

The night time temperatures are dropping and the fish are starting to chase streamers again! Got out this last weekend and had a pretty good day stripping zonkers. Some of my favorite streamers are zonkers, mini loop sculpins, silveys sparkle sculpin, and the JJ special. The best part of the season is just starting up and its only going to get better! Bust out your 6 weight and sink tips and go chase the big fish!

Kids Camp

With the summer in full swing, what better way to beat the heat than to catch fish and swim? The kids camps have been a really fun day full of smallmouth bass, bluegill, and rope swinging. The Bozeman pond has been a great place to catch tons and tons of little fish, and do some swimming too! In the last class we swam out to the island in the middle of the pond with rods and sat in the water while fishing! Sign up your kids soon because we only have four more classes, then its back to dreary old school....
