Sounds like things continue to be amazing right now fly fishing down in South America. Rod and Pam have been hosting groups and fishing in Patagonia since January to catch the summer on the other side of the globe. Lots of good reports of healthy sized 14"-19" hard fighting browns and rainbows eating big foamy cicada patterns in gin clear rivers with a few big 20"-24" trout each week, some landed some just fish tales. The Bozeman Angler/Patagonia pre-show film party was a blast last night with a lot of fishy guys and gals doing what they do best, talking fishing and drinking PBR. Thanks so much to Patagonia for helping us put this event on for the third year going and thanks to the boys at RO Drift boats for bringing down the new "Nomad" model. The Fly fishing film tour hits Bozeman Friday Feb. 17th!!! We got tickets for sale at the shop for $12 and they are going fast. Two films feature Montana this year so come out and support our world renowned local blue ribbon trout waters. Patagonia is sponsoring the annual pre-show party at the Bozeman Angler with free beers and snacks from 5pm to 7pm then we'll head down the street to the Emerson to watch the fish films. Finally got some nice snow falling in the Gallatin valley which just adds to the good snowpack. Snow really just makes me think of going to the saltwater to stalk some bonefish. I have a trip planned down to Long Island, Bahamas in April for some killer sightfishing to tailing bones. Things are pretty sleepy on main street today, as per usual for February. What a spectacular season for the fly fisherman with warm 40 degree days the fishing has been better than any winter i've seen in Montana. I went for a walk wade yesterday on the Gallatin with my dog Trutta and my 11' 7wt. Winston to do some streamer swinging.
