Hyalite Reservoir

Well the snow has stopped up at Hyalite Reservoir this weekend after dumping 6" every night over Memorial Weekend. The fish are stacked up in the far end of the lake and feeding like mad.
It is still a mix of males and females so I do not think they have started to spawn yet, but soon they will. Pam kicked butt and boated some nice scrapy cutts and a gorgeous grayling.
The fly of choice was the Iron Sally size 16#  fished either slow along the bottom or under an indicator if the wind was blowing. There was some dry fly action but it was sporatic and only lasted a few minutes each time, so we stuck with nymphs.
I did see three people fishing up stream in the closed area, so save your self some cash and stay  out of the stream and let them spawn.
