I had the chance to get out of the shop so me and my girlfriend headed to some private water. The rain held off all day but the clouds stuck around making it perfect for streamers and nymphing. We found lots of fish with the nymphs and a few here and there with zonkers; including a 20+ inch fish that snapped the fly off close to the net and got away. It was her first big fish on a fly so it was pretty exciting. The colder weather forecasted for this memorial day weekend should help with the river flows, so think about heading to the madison or the beaverhead for a while. I stopped and checked out the lower madison and it still has ok visibility and should fish well. Get out there and enjoy the weekend!
